YOUR SUPPORT IS NEEDED FOR BOBCAT STUDY

From the Warriors Society

In collaboration with The Nature Conservancy and City of Irvine, State Parks and County Parks, and the Irvine Company, researchers from USGS, Colorado State University and USGS are conducting a study on bobcat movements in the San Joaquin Hills, Orange County. Crystal Cove State Park is part of the study area, as well as Laguna Coast Wilderness Park and Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Parks, Upper Newport Bay, and all other places.

To document the fine-scale movements in this natural landscape, GPS collars will be fitted to up to 13 bobcats. For identification purposes, visitors, researchers and land managers will be able to spot captured bobcats on the trail. Your assistance is needed here! !

Please note: If you see a Bobcat while out on the trail, please be aware of the following:

1. Time taken to see
2. This is the location of the nearest trail intersection.
3. How the bobcat was collared
4. If the collar is collared, be sure to note the color of both the collar and the ear tags, if you can.

All bobcat sightings should be reported to the park ranger/land manger as soon as possible. You can also send us your sightings via TNC (), and we’ll forward it on to the researchers.

We appreciate your help!
